I checked in the Known Issues thread but couldn't find this one listed. I don't even know if it's a one-time thing, but it might be worth noting.
When my boyfriend tried to identify an item he had in his belt (or, quick-list) it would retract money from him, but not identify the item. When he later moved it to the bag, it would identify, but charge once again. He started playing this game just a few days ago, so it hasn't been covered by a patch has it?
belt-related glitch (?)
Re: belt-related glitch (?)
Do you know if he's playing v1.05 of Book I? Or perhaps it's one of the earlier versions (e.g. v1.04)?aztejang wrote:I checked in the Known Issues thread but couldn't find this one listed. I don't even know if it's a one-time thing, but it might be worth noting.

he is playing v1.042c.. I guess he has an older one. I had no idea, he just GOT this game so I assumed it was the most up-to-date version. I guess he should patch it somehow?
EDIT: one more question, the potionist in Blackwater, Vekkar or whatever his name is: he saw me lock pick his door but he didn't come after me. I assumed this was because he is a cripple but when I stood next to him and pressed space, he wouldn't attack me. Is this supposed to happen or is it a glitch? And do people ever let go of grudges

Yes people will retain grudges forever..unless, you use a Charm spell on them or go back to a save where they were still friendly.aztejang wrote:

Watch the message for when your lock picking. Sometimes it say something like 'X hears a crime being committed' This means they know a crime has been done but NOT who did it. The other message 'X sees you commit a crime' means they are angry and may/will attack you every time they see you.
Thank goodness this game doesn't make everyone in town go after you like in some games!

Sometimes the dragon wins...

No no, he saw me - and whenever I put my cursor over him, it's in attack-mode. He just never attacks me, not even when I stand right next to him and press space a bunch of times, and he certainly doesn't come after me.
yeah, it'd be kinda lame if EVERYONE started coming after you with pitchforks !

Re: belt-related glitch (?)
I don't think every NPC has attack data, So Vekkar will probably never attack you.
He's apparently the non-violent kind of tree-hugger.

Re: belt-related glitch (?)

thanks for the help, everyone!

Re: belt-related glitch (?)
that has happened to me before.
I assumed it wasn't a glitch since the item wasn't in my "inventory"
but it did piss me off.
