archery in the dark

Post by vespolina »

Is there any way to improve archery skill in the dark, or to keep a torch lit, or something? Right now I can only use my archery skill during the 50% of the game that it's daytime, which makes it 50% useless.

thx!

There's an elemental spell that highlights your enemies in the dark, making archery just as useful as in the daytime, only requires level 1 elemental, but you'll either have to travel to Bordertown or get lucky to get get it.

The other method is trickier and in some cases reequires even more luck and certainly more strategy. Basically shooting enemies that are lit by a wall sconch or similar light from the safety of the shadows, but there aren't too many opportunites for that.

On a related note, archers have perfect aim even in complete darkness against inanimate objects such as... say... I don't know... exploding barrels... and levers... oh and doors! Lots of doors.

Note: There's also a generally available potion that does much the same thing.

Predator Sight. Save up the potions whenever you find them until you can get the spell. Also, Demon Oil tossed into your enemy's path is wonderful both for keeping them at a distance and lighting them up to be easier to hit with your ranged weapon.
