Taking Your Own Items?

Post by Pika »

I recently picked a spot to store my valuables so that I'm not carrying 80 pounds all the time on my ranger.

The first thought was the Underground Repository, but it was a pain to go all the way to my cell to get my stuff and besides that I killed all the staff there anyway so it was pretty empty =/

In the end I decided to choose the sword/cleaving/bludgeoning training place at Blackwater. I'd already looted the helmet before when Sonya wasn't looking, so I placed my stuff in the empty chest.

However, when I needed to retrieve my stuff, well... Sonya got kinda pissed.

Since I needed my stuff, and she was clearly against me taking it, I kinda had no choice but to kill her.

So my question is...

Will all NPCs get mad if you store your stuff in their chests/drawers?

EDIT: I solved my storage problem in the end! I chose the safest place possible for my valuables... a barrel outside the the pub in Bordertown :D

The NPCs get mad if you take stuff out of containers and they see it. So you have to close doors or wait until they are out of line of sight.

Mostly I use the Aridell and the two rooms near the north end of town and the barrels outside the inn and blacksmith shop. Bordertown has some barrels and chests north of that inn that work well.

Barrels are definitely the best places to store stuff. Nobody else looks in them, and nobody cares what you take out of them. If, for role playing reasons, you wanted a "safer" storage place, there's always the hidden thief's room in Blackwater.

-Bordertown is the most convenient. Closest to the 'Quick Travel' sign. Has 3-4 barrels, and 1-2 chests I think all not in sight of anyone all near each other.

-Something like that. Use Charm is someone gets pissed. =P
