I've played it, but I missed out on the last sale when they had it for half off. It's pretty entertaining. I need to get a couple of copies to me 'n my dad can shoot 'em up.

Re: Anyone Play L4D?
I admit I'm attracted to a certain amount of blood and violence, but the blood & violence has to be properly controlled and heavily imbued with meaning. I looked at the trailer and it just disgusted me. Every aspect of it. So overwhelming and utterly mindless. I suppose the trailer could be misleading. I haven't looked into the game so I don't know what the story behind it is, if there actually is a story besides "everyone's a zombie therefore kill the zombies in the bloodiest manner possible before they munch on your head", that sort of thing. The trailer completely turned me off.
Well, that's just me. Am I the only one who feels this way?
Sorry, 49, if I seem to be stomping on your affections, or anything, if that's the case... just saying what I feel.
It's not available for Mac, anyhow, so I wouldn't be able to play the game had the trailer actually intrigued me.

Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.

Re: Anyone Play L4D?
*sigh* Some people just can't appreciate a good, bloody, zombie stomp session.
There isn't really any story, so you won't be very disappointed for not indulging further. The game was designed with 4 player co-operative in mind, so it's only really entertaining when there's at least two people playing together. It's pretty much just kill a bunch of zombies while getting to the next checkpoint, then at the end of the "Movie" (this is how each level is set up... it's supposed to be a movie scene) you fight a big horde while waiting for rescue.
So the trailer wasn't misleading in the least.

Yeah, I never have been all that crazy about zombies, nor the myriad ways by which they can be defaulted. Maybe I'm missing out?

-Well, you gotta prepare for one day of atomic warfare and people will turn into zombies. By playing all these zombie apocalypse games I will know how to defend myself until rescue comes.

Damn it, man! There isn't going to be any rescue! We are going to be on our own! So load that shotgun and carry with you all the ammo you can. We'll make for the mountains at daybreak.dare49devil wrote:...I will know how to defend myself until rescue comes.

I highly recommend The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead; it is an invaluable resource. There's also a followup being released in October, titled The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks which contains historical data that could prove useful for the upcoming invasion.

But . . . wasn't Christ supposed to come, or something?
...I mean, he promised, and everything!
