Text Based Online RPG'S?

Post by ttomm46 »

HI

I was thinking of checking these out....I admit though I'm your basic hunt and peck type typer so i need one that's fun and worth learning..Paying for one is fine if the game is great...i looked at the Simutronics site but they seem a little pricey..any advice? :?:

Interesting.

You're a bottomless source of RPG info, Bernie.
Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.

Aw . . . and I thought you had all this stuff bookmarked.

...What a letdown.

Should we start calling you Lain, then? Lain of the Wired?

(Notwithstanding that Lain, in the film, was a young girl.)

There is also a nifty browser based text RPG call Sryth. Check it here http://www.sryth.com/

Reminds me of the old Steve Jackson books

It is well written and they say it is free..BUT, if you want to be able to 'play' in all the quests you have to pay. And if you want nifty weapons or armor, again you have to pay. I played it for several months and got annoyed at those features and quit.

Send them a response explaining this, but make sure that after, say, the 3rd or 4th paragraph they have to pay for tor read the rest of your commentary.

...You know: NYTimes-Online-Archives-style.

...This means, of course, that you'll have to have your own website that you can arrange this on.

It also means some extra programming, and use of money-processing operations like PayPal.

Okay, so... now that I think of it... not such a good idea.

But was it fun while the idea lasted? Eh? :|
