1 GB. A little much for my computer at the moment. Have to seriously clean out several months worth of downloaded demos first before going after any game 1 GB or larger, lol.

Not too long ago I bought a 500 GB backup external drive by SeaGate for $135.00 from NewEgg.com. It's about 3x5 inches by 1/2 inch thick. One of the guys down in CIS is always going on about this game. He even has all his old notes in a binder. When I saw it pop up on GoG I had to pick it up. Haven't had a chance to play yet yet, what with the baby, moving, and a list of a couple dozen games to play a head of it. But I'll get to it someday.
It's sad because he's all but stopped playing deep, engrossing, single player RPGs. Instead focusing on the Grind Grind Grind of MMOs. I do harrass him and his daughter to play Sacred once a month so he gets some actual social interaction (call me old fashioned but there's something magical about actual LAN gaming vs. Internet play).
Hell I still get together a bunch of people I went to High School with to play StarCraft (well we've "acquired" a few new recruits along the years too). Bii-annual Craft Tournament we call it. Sure we can play over Bnet but getting together some how increases the excitement.

Arcanum is fantastic. I still play it about once every year since I bought it.
Make sure you get the Unofficial Patch and the High Resolution patch for it.
You can type "Arcanum Forum" in Google and go the House of Lords Terra Arcanum site - it is loaded with information, mods etc.

Yep, Arcanum is one of THE best RPG in history. Its indeed rich on good and deep quests. The only game in my 20 years of gaming that i played more then 3 times.

Arcanum is simply an amazing, amazing game. I realize that this is an old thread, but I only -just- noticed that Arcanum is now available at GoG and since I ran into this thread, had to chime in with the praise.

I'm a big fan of the Steampunk setting (even more so than Cyberpunk which I also like) and the idea of magic vs. technology definitely sounds interesting. I'm going to have to pick this one up soon. At 6 bucks what do I have to lose?

I scooped this up myslef when it was on sale. Having fun so far playing a gun toting Half-Orc. Really interesting game and I love the setting.
On the negative side, is it just me or does this game have some of the most ridiculous loading times and outrageously frequent loads? I'm going to have nightmares where I just see that watch with the spinning hands...

If I do get it from Gog: I don't have to pay Gog for an ongoing account, right? It's a free sign-up and free account, right? No Hidden Fees and so forth? No requirement to download and/or purchase a separate program to install and/or open the game? No collected info streamed regularly to Gog? No hidden feed-line to Gog reporting my every move and thus dictating my gaming or program-using or web-searching or site-visiting predilections whether or not the game is actually open?
At least, for one thing, it does say the games are DRM free. I suppose I have to give them credit for that. After all, not adding a DRM takes ethics, not to mention morals.
At any rate: I believe I've tried, I have, to make it special clear that I'm totally anti-3rd-party-gaming-site, I am I am. Nobody should be making money off other people's artistic creations.
So anyway . . . if everything is free, I think I'll go for the Syberia deal as well.
But something -- gee, can't quite figure out what it is -- tells me there's a good reason why they're offering these prices. Amazon is selling Arcanum for $20. That, well, sort of, kind of, suggests to me that Gog is getting money in other ways, and I don't mean advertising.
Haven't spent an extraordinary amount of time, yet, exploring the site, although I most likely will, eventually. I don't like the idea of spending $20 for Arcanum if I can get away with a mere $6 . . . no matter how cool the game looks. At any rate, from what I see: they appear to be intentionally vague about whether or not registering with Gog is going to cost me anything other than my email . . . which makes me even more suspicious.
Some of you have experience with Gog. Tell me about it before I go delving into their site, private dick style?
