As I mentioned many weeks ago, I've been working solo on a party-based, turn-based (natch) Flash RPG for quite a while. Yesterday I posted the combat demo online for bug testing. So while we all wait patiently for Book I, this might kill an hour or two of your time:

I'm having some trouble with testing. The game runs great on the two PC's I've tried it on, but they're both fairly recent and built for graphics.
Unfortunately, on my wife's Mac it ran like a pig on crack.
I'd appreciate anyone here, PC or Mac, just clicking on the link to play and seeing if you can move up and down the hallway without delays.

Well, I'm not sure what a "pig on crack" is supposed to act like.
It runs good on my system, although the mouse cursor feels sluggish.
I can also get the game the crash/lock-up consistently but going to the very first door in the corridor, and instead of going "up" through the door, go "down" into the wall. I hear the sound of a door open and it just freezes.
I'll try to play a bit more later this afternoon. I also can try it out on the Mac later as well, and Linux later this week (waiting on a new hard drive to rebuild it).
AMD64-FX60, Geforce 7900GTX, WinXP, 4gb RAM.

I'm starting to think I might have to switch to an installer and copy all the files to the user's HD.
That's the only reason I can think it would run perfectly for me, but not everyone else.

I had no idea that a TOEE mod was in full swing until I read your blurb on it ... highly cool (I hope) ... I checked out the Hidden Evil demo and I must say, its pretty cool.
I am a C/C++ dev who never got around to learning flash but wanted to for some spare time RPG projects ... how many hours have you in Hidden Evil and are you a flash wiz?

I've added a Dancing Vector Sprites Gallery (with animations) showing every creature I created for Hidden Evil, including a few who didn't make the demo.

The demo has been updated to vector backgrounds only. This solves the slowdown issues for *some* users and makes the game playable. Rules for the demo are extensively documented on site. There isn't any in-game help yet, but the game is fully functional for those with the motivation to do a little reading (up to 4 pages).
Whatever the opposite of a flash wiz is... that's what I am. I just hacked it out as I went along. I'm guessing my time investment is over 500 hours. Other than the odd bit of advice from some CompSci people and Flash Devils, it's all mine baby!

The TOEE demo is fully functional, and quite large, over 30 new maps. If you have the original game already, definitely check it out.wynams wrote:I had no idea that a TOEE mod was in full swing until I read your blurb on it ... highly cool (I hope) ...
