Black bugs

How did you handle with these big black bugs?
I play Mage, lvl 9. Using Atmosphere compression on them, but making only two-three strikes before I got paralized. And then death from their horn.

I, too, used a mage with compress atmosphere (since I hadn't found Abyssal Freeze yet - Compress Atmosphere is area-of-effect so does less damage to individual monsters). They died in like 4 hits of Level 6 Compress - they're slow as all get out, so hit them from the edge of the screen and it will take them all day to get within range to sonic boom you.

With rare exceptions, monsters do not heal in the game, too. So don't be afraid to hit it once or twice and run away And, I mean, even when I had the mana to hit it 4 times, I would often hit it twice, then move back a couple steps to make sure it didn't get too close, then hit it some more.

These guys are why I'm not a melee fighter. They must hate those bugs something fierce.

They're not so bad if you keep from engaging more than one or two at a time. They usually don't use the sonic attack when in close range. Using trees/buildings for cover helps a lot.

For a fighter you can weaken them with a bow shot and close for the kill. With enough armor they don't do that much damage to a meele fighter.

It seems they will be hardest monster in game for untouchable fighter. With no armor and chance to be stunned and hit for over 50 dmg per attack, im afraid to think of moment when ill have to face them >.<

They die to fireball.

Fire dart level 5 or 6 and you should be able to kill one of them with full mana around level 8 no problemo. Fire dart is one of the best spells mana/damage. Much better than the other higher level spells until you get really high level elm.
