level 4 Talushorn

Maybe it was just late last night, but I ventured up to level 4 Talushorn..

I walk down the hall with all the torch stands and enter the area where the portcullis slams behind me.

now I'm stuck in an area with 2 strange machine and can not open any of the doors or the main portcullis to go forward or to the chest room..

anyone mind given me a hint or directions on how to get these area opened up..

Medieval humans should not trust strange futuristic machinery.

blast it ! 1 little tip about this place when you first walk in the 1st level don't step on the plate as you come through the door or you won't be able to leave , walk around it so if you need to leave to sell off extra gear or get a few things you can leave and return...

Step on that plate a second time, and the gate opens again. It's more like tricking you into thinking you're trapped.

no been a basher.smasher in this first game.. ranger with magic and sneaking and hiding

finished my first run through book2 now

book1 seemed harder in terms of having a lot more badies to deal with at once - I delayed going in here to collect a bunch of potions for mana and health and other thing like invisible haste stone skin etc etc expected to be ganged upon by a herd mean bulls or other critters
