She will not let go of the key willingly, for she holds it only to give it to her new master.
To keep the True Healer challenge, you are going to have to get sneaky. A key to a Dwarven mine- surely someone else must have a copy. Perhaps you should travel directly to the Dwarven lands and snoop around a bit.

This has been discussed in a few places. If you want to keep the true healer challenge, then you have to get away from Sparrow and find an alternate key or an alternate way through the door. Either is possible.

Heh, wouldn't that broke the quest? As it is exactly written in my journal, to visit sparrow and nothing more. I almost forgot what to do next after meeting her.
First, i thought there is some "pickpocket" skill that i need to use, but i couldnt find that one. Thought that was the one "sneaky" behaviour mentioned above.

Well, the larger quest is to get the Crux from the Hammerlorne Mine. Sparrow was supposed to have procured a key, but they hadn't heard from her so they didn't know what was going on. When you find out that you can't get the key from Sparrow, you need to think about either where might you find another key or how else might you get through a locked door.

The entire quest is pretty backwards, especially in relation to the quest text and the healer achievement.lexantis wrote:Heh, wouldn't that broke the quest? As it is exactly written in my journal, to visit sparrow and nothing more. I almost forgot what to do next after meeting her.

What you need to do is get the (a) key to the mines, not necessarily talk to Sparrow.

I don't understand how anyone keeping to the True Healer can even break level 10. Killing things is the prime source of XP. Without it, you're stuck on the slow train.
Re: Key from Sparrow?
The True Healer challenge only prevents you from killing creatures who are "good"-aligned. For the most part this just means friendly NPCs (ie: anyone you can 'talk' to in-game). So practically everything else in the gameworld is fair game.Rowanas wrote:I don't understand how anyone keeping to the True Healer can even break level 10. Killing things is the prime source of XP. Re: Key from Sparrow?
I chose the right path and being on the "good side", so far so good level 12
and i think im only in the first 1/2 of the game, spending 18 hours on, making true mage too and its a little bit of hell enduring with mana
anyway, how much time you got to end this game for the first time?

Re: Key from Sparrow?
It took me almost 30 hours to complete the game the first time through. Keep in mind that I did the Journeyman Challenge which meant a lot of time logged hoofing it since I couldn't fast travel.

Re: Key from Sparrow?
Whereas I'm a real exploration junkie, so even with quick traveling around, I logged game-world time of 60-70 hours in my first play-through.
We can come closer to a spoiler by telling you to find the guy who owns the mine and know that he keeps a key close to him--though not on his person.
Or, if you have good pick-locks skill and a lot of picks, you can get the door open without the key. (Only one pick necessary if you're not using the fixed random seed, but a LOT of reloading.)

Re: Key from Sparrow?
Level 10 in Pick Locks is sufficient with fixed seed. I had exaggerated wildly in an earlier attempt, and got it to 20. Waaay too much, that.
With level 10 a few tries are to be expected on a lock like this, but a few broken lockpicks is worth saving the skill points.
A scroll like Nimble boosts your lock pick skill, as it boosts dexterity. There will probably be other items in the game that can help out when picking locks.
