No, I mean the first interracial kiss. When Kirk kissed Uhura in The Gamesters of Triskelion (2/3ds of the way through season 2). Very controversial stuff at the time. Yes, the 60s were different - no one batted an eye at strong implications that Kirk had sex with a green woman, but how dare they actually show him kiss a (shudder) human from another "race"? Gah.Evnissyen wrote:You mean interspecies, of course, right? ... that was the 60's, I guess. I guess maybe people were different, back then?(*) the show IS historically significant as a first for having TV's first interracial kiss
Roddenberry's original pilot had a female first officer, but the network objected to the idea of presenting a woman in such a position of authority (you can still see chopped up bits of the original pilot in the two-part episode The Menagerie)
Indeed. Though David Tennant is now my favorite Doctor ever, Tom Baker still has a special place in my heart for being my first experience with the show, and my favorite Doctor for many many years.Rowanas wrote:Tom Baker for the win....

I have a fondness for Peter Davison after he was a guest at a convention I was at and joined a bunch of us for a midnight reading of "The Eye of Argon." Of course, he had an unfair advantage reading turgid text without breaking down in howls of laughter.silverkitty wrote:Indeed. None of which has anything to do with character level titles, unless BW is planning to name the levels over 30 after the various Doctors Who.

David "I have killed a thousand worlds"1 Tennant would've been a better Doctor if Russell T Davis (I spit upon his very mention) hadn't cocked it up so badly.
1 I've named him this for the stupid, over the top, soap opera lines he gets given about how everything is so lonely and miserable, the whole universe is his (the Doctor's) fault and the blood of billions stains his (the Doctor's) hands.
Here's my advice for the Doctor, as played by David Tennant.
1: Man up, grow some cahones, stop being such a whiny little emo.
2: You're the freakin' Doctor! If you don't like being the last of the Timelords, just off yourself three or four times and you're done.
3: How about not being such a miserable killjoy when the Master's around, eh? You'd think a couple of days as the hideous offspring of Yoda and Smeagol would make you think twice about refusing offers.

And finally...
4: What are you wearing? Get a scarf, you nonce.

I'd like to know why David Tennant has your vote for favourite Doctor.
EDIT: Kreador, that must've been so awesome.
