Environmental sounds at startup

Post by Evnissyen »

So... by the way... what're those odd whooping sounds, and all, in the background on the load screen?

This is some spooky stuff, man.

Is this what the Land of Eschalon actually sounds like? I mean, were I to physically go there: is this what I would hear as soon as I stepped off the bus/plane/spaceship?

EDIT: I've just noticed that the good thing about my post# right now -- 689 -- is that it looks precisely the same upside down as right-side up. I think I'll keep it here for a little while so you can all admire it.
Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.

I think only the desert parts, during a sandstorm. ;)
(Or do you not mean the sounds at the Main Menu screen?...)

Actually, it'll look the same backwards and upside-down. :P

I found myself humming the classical guitar piece of music first heard (by me anyway) when you first start to wander around the capital. (Its to symbolize quazi-medieval society I imagine and the fact that you have reached the centre of this society, or something like that) I was humming it at work whilst sitting in front of my computer and, found myself humming it later on when walking through town. This game has got inside my head! Love the music though for this and the attention to details with all the environmental sounds etc. Good work.

Hmm... I tend to turn the music off. Incidental game music almost invariably annoys me. I'll have to take another look at it, in this game, although when I first listened to the game music I didn't like it, either.

I guess that's just me.

I much, much prefer the ambient sounds. To me: that's the true music of RPG's.

IJ:
Yeah, I mean the load screen, with the roadsign and the unending desert (or beach?) with the very low stormclouds moving in the distance.
