Hostiles to friendly (spoilers)

I have been given the quest to destroy the spiders but the quest giver must have seen me steal something (despite being in the dark and across the road) and now three hours after I took the quest I went to accept my reward and now he is hostile. Is there a cheat where I can turn him friendly again?

It looks like you don't own the Charm spell or you would already be aware of it Incidentally, using it would not actually be a cheat.

As Painted Lady mentioned, casting Charm will work if you're a mage. Otherwise, buy a Flask of Charm Cloud from one of the merchants; it should clear that up.
