Stuck in a tree

Post by dirthouse »

Well, after going over a small part of the game I made my way into the western part of Tangletree Forest and got spawned just above what was probably intended to be the de facto spawn point. I tried saving/reloading to no avail and aparently I can't fast travel anywhere due to enemies being near.

Is there a workaround for this or will I simply have to start over from an old save ?

Ouch. Yes, you might have to. If you press TAB and get me the coordinates for the area you are in, I can fix it in the patch, but for now I would recommend going to a previous save.

I apologize! :oops:

Note to others: we spent a lot of time making sure all the maps meshed together correctly so this wouldn't happen, but with so many maps there are undoubtedly going to be a few places where crossing from one map to another may get you stuck in a rock or tree. Especially if you are walking directly beside a tree line when you cross.

Save often, and generally stay in the center of paths as you cross maps and you'll be fine. We'll continue to fix these map areas as you find them.

Hm, wouldn't a autosave when you travel from one map to another be useful?

while you're at it, you might want to fix central tangletree forest (90, 177) being passable. you can get on the chasm and then leave the map south, resulting in the player being stuck in trees as well.

X= 98
Y= 153
Western Tanglewood

You really don't have to apologize, considering how big developers overlook things much simpler than this as a rule. You've put together a game I've enjoyed allot, too bad there's no firemen to get this adventurer down from that tree. ;)

In demo version I have loaded a save I've made and the character was between the trees and couldn't move. I've reloaded the game and ended up in place where I actually saved the game.

I don't have coordinates, since I've re-saved many times in the same slot, but I've saved game at Abygale's shop and when the game loaded I was in threes NE of Farwick's shop.

You can get stuck in a tree in the Western Salted Coast region at X=98 Y=93. To get stuck there stand in Eastern Salted Coast at X=3 Y=94 then walk left (there's no tree to stop you walking off the map, and the opposite side is all treed up...
