Playing the demo. Just once, I created a new game and I was started in the wrong place. I think it was the lower left hand corner of the start map, but I didn't know how to check the coordinates at that time. I don't know how easy this bug will be to reproduce, it only happened the one time and the next new game was fine. The only thing I know for certain was that the cartography skill was at five. I was making the character to see what the minimap looked like compared to s a skill 1.
Like I said, I don't know if this one can be reproduced, but maybe if someone else has it we can ferret out enough details to be of use.

Same thing happened to me... I can't remember if I had given my character cartography 5, but I ended up in the top left corner of the map.
