Hey ho! Well, what do you think? A few more music scores and its done. Hardest thing I ever did in my life! One-man basement operation. Utterly insane. Let me know what you think. Dr. D.

P.S. Now I gotta figure out how to distribute this monster!
Lord of the Cyclops
Re: Lord of the Cyclops
I had forgotten that I also put MADMAN up on the site. This will run in Dosbox or Boxer and its totally free. Might want to play with it if you like. Its sort of like "Matian Dreams" or "Ultima 6". It was my "state of the art" at the time, about 14 years ago. Thanks, -Dr. D.
P.S. Fourteen years!!! Auugghh! I'm not that old, am I??

Re: Lord of the Cyclops
I don't see a link. How do I download it? I was only able to grab UZ3 and MadMan.
Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.
Re: Lord of the Cyclops
Not quite ready yet - I'm awaiting a few more songs that are part of the music score. My music man is an indie film maker and alas he's busy with his movie at the moment. I'll definitely post at the site any new news when it comes - hopefully soon enough. Thanks, -Rob

Will this be only for the Mac?

>how do i play this? there is no link. is this online or do i have to download it?
The sticking point here is that while I love music, and even play the violin and viola, I can't actually create music. I hum a tune and inevitably end up humming an existing tune. It turns out to be quite expensive to hire a professional music house (like the "Fat Man") - my original plan. But I got lucky in that my friend at work is an Indie film maker and an even longer-time music man. He has made so far three music scores for the intro, overland travel, and one of the combat themes. They are excellent and I am pleased with his ability.
So basically i need about 7-8 more tunes, but now of course Jay is busy with his movie which is going into the editing stage. Since he's doing this for free, I'm kind of limited to his schedule to get more music done, and thus the game.
So basically, UZ4 is sitting on my drive, anxious to get unleashed unto the world, but I can't quite do it yet only because the music isn't ready. Its a little irritating considering the years - about seven - it took to complete. Done, ready to go, except for the music!
Actually, I had an idea: Jay's big reason for doing this for free is exposure. Its why his name is prominently featured on the title screen. If I saw a lot of interest in the project - like a bunch of emails or something - I could show that to him
and I have a feeling he would make some time to finish up the music rather quickly - maybe a week or two.. In any case, I think the release of UZ4 is imminent.
>Will this be only for the Mac?
My idea is to first release it to the Mac world. Depending on how it does, it is likely there will be a PC port. This is made a little simpler because I'm using a cross-platform suite, but there's still a lot of conversion needed. Its all up to the interest and feedback from the Mac world, where traditionally there tended to be more support from that group for Indie developers. We'll see how it goes!
Thanks, -Rob
