My son just told me he was glancing at "Penny Arcade" and saw the new Eschalon ad BW designed above, #3!

...But did he click on it?
Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.

Re: Which Book II ad works best?
Well, they were going to make Book II be the premiere game on their new Greenhouse 2.0 digital service. But, they ended up pulling the plug on it due to technical issues (that was the part I couldn't mention at the time). So, to compensate me for the time I put in to prep Book II, they game me a bit of ad space through the end of the year.Jedi_Learner wrote:Can you talk about it now?BasiliskWrangler wrote:Penny Arcade is giving me a 4 week advertising campaign that it worth, well, a lot of money. There is a long story behind this which I don't know if I can talk about right now- it's nothing bad like a huge lawsuit settlement; it's more like a gift. More on it later, but for now I just want to take maximum advantage of this exposure.

Dudes, seriously awesome game. Reminds me of a turn based "Siege of Avalon" and have thus far enjoyed the story. Definitely a good buy, I would say.
And yes, the ad on PA, plus a few glowing reviews on the RPG.Net boards brought me here.

I didn't vote either.
Put things into perspective!
What audience are you aiming at?
If you are an old gamer such as I, add 2 caught my eye. The lone warrior struggle has its appeal.
If you are familiar with Book 1, Adds 2 & 3 would probably get more hits.
If you are trying for the younger set or new adventurers Adds 1 & 3 would get more hits. More hits = more demo DL = more wanting to finish the game.
Look at most retail stores that use center isle 4' end cap advertising. A Small Sign Designed to catch the eye and set the mood and generates more sales.

I definitely like Ad #3 the best, with #2 in second place (I voted for 2, but would've voted for 3 if I saw it before I voted!
).
The in-game graphics are key. The graphics remind me of Ultima Online or something similar and I know the game is something I would be interested in right away. I like that it is an action shot too. I know a little bit more about what to expect and it just looks like more fun.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. This ad campaign has now over, so I'll close this thread.
