Poll 2011 - Distribution preference
To help us decide what kind of features to offer on future games, we run polls like this once per year.

Re: Poll 2011 - Distribution preference
I've tried both methods with my own games over the years. From my standpoint, I've always found the separate full version download to be the easiest. When I did registration codes, I was always getting e-mails from customers whose code didn't work (usually because they tried to type it in and mistyped it), who lost their code and needed a new one, etc.
Also, it's a lot easier for pirates to distribute a registration code than to host a file.

As a customer, registration code to unlock the game was very good. I could keep my saves without having to do some manual meddling.

I prefer one download because of the file size, but either one is fine.

I liked the code better, that way I can easily switch between different computers, even if they use different operating systems.

I don't really have a preference. Whatever is easier for you, BW, is fine with me.

Re: Poll 2011 - Distribution preference
I definitely prefer the Book II method.
I never had a problem with the Book I way, but I've seen many people on these forums (esp. newbies) have issues with the Book I method, where the only people who ever seem to have Book II issues are people who got Book II via 'third parties' (e.g. Steam).
So, I think for us, and for you, the Book II method is probably preferable.

I chose #3, either is fine... but MGC has a point... every time I get a new computer I have to ask Jeff Vogel at Spiderweb to send me all new codes.
Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.
