Two questions

Currently I'm a lvl 29 mage - I read where someone else had made lvl 30, and I'm wondering if this is the highest level, or can you go higher? Is there a level cap?

Secondly, I have an old savegame from a previous character who never finished the game. Can I reload and play that old one, or are we limited to one character at a time?

After hitting lvl 30, I have the answer to that question, I think. There's no message, but the experience bar shows the next level at 9,999,999 which, given my experience is now just over 500,000 should take a year or two of constant experience farming to reach

So BW has capped it at lvl 30 by making 31 very unattractive, time-wise. I wonder what happens if someone hits the 10 million mark? I'm still getting experience for kills after lvl 30...

As for the second question, I don't want to screw up this game by loading an old one from another character and having something bad happen. I'll try it when I finish this game, prolly in a couple of days.

Each saved game is considered a separate character- you can finish the game multiple times with different characters saved under different slots. You could save the same character under two separate slots, then continue forth with both (taking them down different development paths) and finish the game separately as well.

Yes, the level cap is 30. I honestly don't know what would happen if you smashed the 10,000,000 XP mark. No guarantees that the game won't break!

I was curious, so I did some experimentation.

The maximum XP the game understands is 699,999. If you load a saved game with more XP, it gets reduced to that value. Once you have 699,999, gaining more XP in game won't affect the total at all.

However, you can edit your save to make you higher than level 30. Doing that causes your title to show up blank, and for the level up icon to be lit even though you can't use it - see attached. Excuse the poor color palette, but I had to get the size down to less than 256k to be able to attach it here.
