Somehow lost main quest line

Greetings all,

I have a peculiar problem and need a SMALL hint (smaller the better, it's killing me having to ask!). I've made it through 80% of the game without the main quest line. I went to the inn in Eastwillow initially, got the strange viewing glass, and made my way over to Minus at the cottage west of the dam. I told him I'd like to keep things secret once I get to Port Kuudad, so the quest for the viewing glass was removed. Who/What/Where is the next step in the main quest line from here? I was guessing it was something at the academy in Port Kuudad based on what Minus said, but the mean old man there won't talk to me. I never found the secret clubhouse of this little group I'm part of either (Korren is the dude I think?).

I have been to all but the last two quick travel points. I've killed everything I know of. I have no quests. A small hint would be awesome!

Ahhh... yes, this is what I needed. Curious, how would I know to use the viewing glass in that area? Does someone you meet hint at that?

Yes. The old man in the back of the academy, as I recall.

Hmm, that guy only says two things to me, both of which can be paraphrased as "go away". Maybe I missed a step/person before him? It did seem odd to me that you get to the academy and there is nothing there for me to do or learn.

Are you talking to the man in the Inn, or Saint Gilhelm in Lockston Hall? It may be that if you don't tell Minus you'll go talk to him, you lose that next link in the quest line and have to figure it out for yourself.

Yes! You are correct. I told Minus, "I'll figure it out on my own". Then, I did not at ALL figure it out on my own. I so very much did not do that.
