Is there a way to beat an enemy's spell resistance?
Im playing a fighter and i have sonic blast for a spell at lvl 6. Ive noticed that sometimes creatures save and sometimes they dont at like a 50/50 chance. I realize that not all creatures save, but id like to know anything that may help make them fail.
Is there any logical way of making a better roll or pierce of an enemy's resistance. Im kind of dependant on this skill for my melee attacks.

There is no real way to decrease your opponents spell resistance. Sorry.

Re: Is there a way to beat an enemy's spell resistance?
Then i think i might be UNABLE to beat this game. I have a character saved at lvl 10 who cannot compete with the tauraxes that he is fighting due to the fact that my build revolves around sonic blast WORKING. I highly doubt that i will defeat them as i already have the best equipment and lvl 6 spell lvl of sonic blast.
I am constantly getting destroyed by these minotaurs (tauraxes) as they keep on saving against magic. I shouldve stopped playing my melee character on this game days back. Unless i have another way out, Im done with this game.

Melee characters can be very effective. No magic effects work terribly well against the tauraxes, so you have to use other tactics with them. Also, you should go level up some more because they're really rough to be facing at level 10.

Nah its alright man, appreciate the help. Its just that i should have stayed with my mage character who wasnt as far as this char. I cant stand melee because its just so clickfesty. I think ive had enough of these games. Id play melee if there were some tactics to use, but as it stands, there are none.
I think i might go back to my mage. He's lvl 3.

Go explore someplace else and get another 10 levels. You will also be able to get some different attack spells that will have a better chance of working against a Taurax. You about three different types of spell damage to be effective as a mage, so fire, cold, and one other will work for most of the game.

Best way to take on the Taurax is at night under cover of darkness. Get yourself a predator sight spell or some potions. That significantly reduces their To Hit chances.

Question: What can I even do to get as far as level 10? I seem to always get stuck on 7.

Go to Vela and kill goblins while avoiding the traps, clear Grimmhold but this takes lots of mana so you may want to do it in sections, camp a lot to summon enemies but as you get to higher levels this means Tauraxes.

With my mage I have cleared Vela and most of Grimmhold. If I remember correctly I got him to level 8-10, I can't remember. But he is still not enough to defeat even a single taurax.

You may just be using the wrong spell to attack them. Tauraxes have great magic resistance, but Compress Atmosphere does physical, not magical damage, so is extremely effective against them. Especially if you can get them close together where you can hit more than one.Lord_P wrote:With my mage I have cleared Vela and most of Grimmhold. Really? It does? Thank you a lot. This will make the game much easier.Kreador Freeaxe wrote:You may just be using the wrong spell to attack them. Another way to bypass their accuracy (or any enemy's accuracy) is to wait until it is dark, pull out your torch, attack, then immediately put the torch back in before the enemies attack -- they will suffer ToHit penalties for attacking in darkness. Science!

Or wait until darkness and use Predator Sight potion or spell.essial wrote:Another way to bypass their accuracy (or any enemy's accuracy) is to wait until it is dark, pull out your torch, attack, then immediately put the torch back in before the enemies attack -- they will suffer ToHit penalties for attacking in darkness.
