[Bug] Hide in the shadows = torch ?

Post by Ivanil »

Hello, first of all I need to tell that mi english SUCKS

ok now...

I discovered a bug/xploit when I was playing whit my assasin:

lets say that i have been discovered in the shadows after I attacked a monster and then i want to re-hide again, what do u think i'll do ? walk away until i see a "Hide in the ShadowS" mark on the right-side of the screen ? NO. I REALIZED THAT ALL I HAVE TO DO IS TO TURN ON AND OFF THE TORCH AND THEN "WTF"!? I WAS HIDDEN AGAIN FROM THE ENEMY.

the fact is that there's a bug about turning on>off the torch after being discovered that let you to hide in the shadows whitout moving.

I hope u have understand what i'm triying to say cuz i have an english test in about 13hours :(

p.d: I apologize if posting this on the general forum wasn't correct, but i was very disapointed that u didn't correct this on the 1.02 patch :(

ok thx for reading and bb!!

(i'm still worried on the english, was it readable??)

Yeah i understand what you're saying.

You're saying that switching torches "on" and "off" affects the "hidden in shadows" status without a need to move your character to a new position.

But should it be considered a bug? I mean if your in a dark room and you flash a light in someones eyes then turn it off... They are going to be blinded for a short period of time. So I can see how it would allow a person to 'hide in the shadows' again.

By the way, your english was fine. I could understand what you meant.

If that is how it was designed, shouldn't turning on or off a torch take a turn? I can see the blinding thing being intentional, but right now it takes no time to do it.

Here is another possible bug. Turn your torch off, walk up to a mob, turn your torch on and attack. You now have no darkness penalty to hit, but the mob still does.

I'll fix this in 1.03.

[edit] Fixed. There was a 'minus' where a 'plus' should have been.
