What is a Curse?

Post by Sakar »

When designing a character there is reference to being immune to curses. What exactly is a curse in the game? Is there a save vs Curse? What falls under the curse category?

Just trying to determine it's worth! :?

It's like being poisoned only worse. There is a save, and there are cures (potions, priests).

Are diseases considered a curse?

You know, I was thinking of diseases when I replied. There are saves for curses and I think priests can uncurse you, but I don't know if there is a potion that will do it. The one time I've been cursed so far, I died in combat, so I didn't have to deal with it.

Ah, ok. I haven't gotten far enough yet to see a curse.

The save is vs wisdom, the curse I got (from a poltergeist) massively reduced my strength to the extent that I reloaded as I could not move and did not wish to destroy items to be able to return to town. There is a divinination spell to remove curses youself (dehexification) and priests will do it for 1000 gold. As a rule of thumb, kill anything that can curse without getting close.
