Heroes of Might and Magic
May the sky never fall on your head
I never got into the HoMM games. I think it was because by the time I checked them out, I had already played games from the Diciples and Age Of Wonders series, and HoMM was just more of the same.
So it didn't really grab my attention.

There are worlds out there where the sky is burning. And the sea's asleep and the rivers dream … People made of smoke and cities made of song … Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, somewhere else the tea's getting cold!

Re: Heroes of Might and Magic
Hi,
for sure the HOMM III series
actually I have all 1 to 5 (and the king's "anything")
version 4 is not really that bad, just get used to the very short walking distance per round and avoid
playing necro (zounds of vampires takes out the fun, be they on your side or the opponent's...),
but unbalanced necro could be seen already in HOMM 3,
thats why necro is normally banned in LAN partys here
why not to vote HOMM 5 ???
the latest add on is fine,
the duell mode is great on LAN parties (between HOMM III games)
only when playing random maps at "impossible" size,
with 7 computer opponents, the computer turn time is really ENDLESS
can play some time of EB1 in that time, on another PC of course...

Re: Heroes of Might and Magic
V is actually the only one I've played (as I know one of the writers, and he sent it to me). I found it a lot of fun, though insanely difficult in parts. I know that the game went through a lot of shuffle in the years between IV and V, because of changes in companies and such. I found it entertaining.
