A Question about Type of Wood/Metal

Post by deathknight1728 »

1-I am making a blackjack club wielding fighter and am wondering where you find the best wood/metal items in book 2? It states on the wikia that you can get wood of the best quality but unfortunately I dont know where I can find that. Does anyone know which towns carry higher woods/metals or is it just the later towns?

2-Oh and when it comes to shields, does concentration provide the same bonus to melee spell failure with shields or is strength a better bet?

Better items come later in the game. The later towns have better stock, but it also scales to your character level to some extent.

I've never had much trouble with melee spell failure. You should be increasing strength for this character build anyway, so I'd just go with that.

Picaroon Island is the last town in the game, which means the best weapons may be sold there. Other good places would be Radcliffe's exotics in Port Kuudad and the Durnore blacksmith.

Agreed, the supply of weapons and armor on Pickaroon Island is usually terrific. It is also highly variable, so if you don't spot something wonderful when you first arrive, check back in later. You will have plenty of opportunity to do so since you will probably be doing quite a bit of camping out on the grazelands....

An extra bonus: here's a trick how to get enough money for that endgame equipment.

You need:
High foraging skill
High mercantile skill
Enough divination for create food lvl 6
Boar Ring (optional)
Dealer hat (optional)

Go to Port Kuudad. Cast Create Food until your mana bar is empty. Camp until you regain all of your mana (camp as long as you like). Loot the reagent bag. Sell the stuff you made. Repeat.

Very heavy grinding but makes a lot of money.

Geez, I've never had the kind of money problem that would prompt me to need to do that. Usually there isn't that much stuff in shops I want to buy, and after selling all the unique items I'm pretty flush with cash.

Neither have I. I made some 20 000~ gold with the items I brought from Fathamurk. That trick is just for some early game extra money.
