I don't recall XXXXXX threatening me. Perhaps I just XXXXXX XXXXXX to early every game.Prismatic Maelstrom wrote:XXXXXX attempts to kill you if you threaten to steal her belongings in Book I. For this reason I don't think she is a member of Crius Vindica. Also take note of the hidden banner in her house.Vroqren wrote:Perhaps XXXXXX is also part of Crius Vindica? XXXXXX did know exactly what you needed help with previously.
And excuse my ignorance: I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at in the picture. I see a yellow door... Do you mean the poster of the eye?
EDIT: Also, did anyone else notice this shining hitpoints in the wrecked ship? What was the deal with that...?

Hey, I notice that the "Area Title" (just below the Minimap) is in none of these shots - was that feature pulled from the game?...BasiliskWrangler wrote:A couple spoilers, so be warned: Book III Teaser

Area title is still there. The video was captured at 1024x768, standard HD video format is 1280x720. There is a bit of top and bottom clipping.IJBall wrote:Hey, I notice that the "Area Title" (just below the Minimap) is in none of these shots - was that feature pulled from the game?...BasiliskWrangler wrote:A couple spoilers, so be warned: Book III Teaser

Will the summon creature spell allow the summoned creature to move this time? or will they be stuck in place again?

Re: Eschalon: Book III Teaser
Nice conspiracy theory. I'd say it's definitely a visual theme for the underground repository - it appears not only in the UGR entryway and XXX's house, but also in the "special" inn room in Blackwater. I checked the other Book I maps, though, and it also turns up in a few other places: the "mysterious cave" with Barrea mercenaries that's part of the divine ore quest, and in the house of Leurik, the cemetery keeper.Prismatic Maelstrom wrote:I do. It appears in the underground repository in Blackwater to which XXXXXX is a member, but this banner also appears in the private chambers of Gramuk in the Goblin Citadel. Is it just a general banner or is it trying to tell us something about XXXXXX?Vroqren wrote:Do you mean the poster of the eye?
I suppose XXX, Leurik, and the mercenaries could all be under the control of the One, but if he was controlling the UGR, wouldn't he have just looted it and taken the crux?

That's cool!Prismatic Maelstrom wrote:Isn't that a giant clam in the shipwreck just south of the player when he opens the cabinet?IJBall wrote:I can't wait to get a look at these "Giant Clams" though...
I hadn't noticed that before, but I think you're right - I think that's exactly what that is.

That assume's that he knew where the Crux was hidden. The mind erasure potion was to hide that information.SpottedShroom wrote:I suppose XXX, Leurik, and the mercenaries could all be under the control of the One, but if he was controlling the UGR, wouldn't he have just looted it and taken the crux?
Or the person that was supposed to remove the Crux from the UGR met a bloody end just before he go in there.

I don't remember. I might have been drinking the same stuff as Captain Morgan.

Re: Eschalon: Book III Teaser
Whatever Morgan's drinking is stronger – poor guy's been reduced to just 1 HP in Book II!Randomizer wrote:I don't remember. I might have been drinking the same stuff as Captain Morgan.

Re: Eschalon: Book III Teaser
Because that was the original symbol on Book 1 and 2. It was then flipped on Book 2 because a couple people complained, but when the GUI menu was updated for Book 3 the original artwork was pulled out of the archive and reused. I had forgotten that we flipped it and used it as-is.
We will not flip it again. Anyone who finds it offensive is completely wrong. Yes, I said it. History lesson time:
The Pentagram predates Christianity by thousands of years, though it has long been used in Christianity as a symbol of five sense (the human equivalent of the Holy Trinity), as well as the five wounds of Christ. It was used as protection against demons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram#Christianity
It is used as a symbol of natural spiritualism, paganism, druidism. It is also an ancient symbol of magic and the supernatural, which is how we use it in Eschalon.
People who are offended by it mistake the standard pentagram for the Sigil of Baphomet. This is a trademarked logo of the Church of Satan, and not just a basic pentagram (notice the goat, the double circle, the symbols). We are not using a Sigil of Baphomet in Eschalon, just a simple pentgram as has been used for over 5000 years by many, many different religions.
Point up or point down? Doesn't mean a thing:

So with that, which chose an inverted Pentagram as a icon for the use of magic, which it has been since the dawn of written history.symboldictionary.net wrote:A “point down” pentacle is nothing new- nor is it Satanic when it appears as such. Historical depictions of the pentagram were as likely to be points down as point up- a distinction between one or the other was rarely made by the ancients. Even today, one must not assume a point down pentagram is Satanic, as it is just likely to be Masonic, Wiccan, or simply upside-down. Some inexperienced Wiccans will occasionally claim that a point down pentacle is Satanic, but such a symbol has at times represented the Wiccan horned God, and is still today an emblem of the Second Degree initiation in Gardnerian Wicca.

Re: Eschalon: Book III Teaser
Yep, it is an original track. We have (I think) 15 or so original tracks for Book 3.Prismatic Maelstrom wrote:Was the music used in the trailer original or from somewhere else?
My last post in this topic, I swear.
I've made sure that the "Eschalon Theme" has part of each game. Starting with the title track of Book 1 and evolving through Book 2 and Book 3, the familiar Eschalon melody is woven into many tracks. It was something that I insisted on since the first game- I wanted a theme melody that would be familiar to fans, much like the Start Wars theme is used throughout the entire series of movies. Luckily the composers I've worked with have been able to incorporate variations of this melody in much of the games tracks.
