Another Kickstarter to check out

Post by Kreador Freeaxe »

For those of you who have a bit to risk on another Kickstarter for an RPG like we all enjoy, here's a new one from Guido Henkel that he's been working on for a while. For those who don't know who he is, he was one of the developers of the Realms of Arkania trilogy and the producer of Planescape: Torment.

The new game, Deathfire, includes turn-based combat, a fantasy realm, single player controlling a party of up to 6 (4 PCs and 2 NPCs).The first-person view isn't my favorite, but the depth of thought Guido has been putting into this is inspiring enough that I kicked in a pledge. Also, some of the bonus materials are coming from friends of mine, so… ;-)

It looks good. I agree that I'm not a huge fan of the first-person view though.

While I'm not a huge fan of the first-person view either, I can handle it if the game is turn based. The effort that has been put into this project is impressive. Here's hoping they can make it to the finish line.

This games combat system is more like Swords and Serpents than Oblivion, or did I get it wrong?

For your information, Swords and Serpents was an excellent game, because it had a much less clunky combat system than heroes of might and magic and oblivion / wasteland oblivion.
