Just in time for Book III...

Post by BasiliskWrangler »

New spoiler code for the forums. Let's test it...major movie spoiler ahead!!
[+] SPOILER
At the end of the movie, the Titanic sinks!
Everyone else give it a test. Just highlight the text you want to hide and click the "Spoiler" button above. FYI, Book 3 is filled with a LOT of puzzles and secret areas, so this should be a very useful feature.

Warning: this code is experimental, so I can't promise that it will work flawlessly.

If you have the Crux of Fire in your possession and step on the dock at the pond east of Eastwillow you will get teleported to a secret area!

Aww man, I had completely forgotten about that. I almost fell for it at the time too...

Thank you BW! This will come in very handy!

If you didn't already, you should actually implement the teleporter so you can post a video of the easter egg. That should really frustrate some people.

Thanks, BasiliskWrangler. A very useful feature for a forum for an RPG, and indeed nicely timed for Book III.

I still remember the old workaround; choosing a colour for the text that was exactly the same as the forum background colour. You had to record that colour code somewhere, as it was a long number. Ah, those were the days...
I guess, with the old forum colours sadly having disappeared, those spoilers aren't working anymore.

Yeah. Tons of people probably got spoilers they weren't looking for when the forums changed.
It's also hard to do here because the background of the posts alternate with every post. You'd have to store two colors, and look at the most recent before you posted. And then, if someone deleted their post ahead of yours, you'd have to change it...
Too complicated. Spoiler tags are much better. Thanks again BW!

I went to the dock with the Crux of Fire, but nothing happened... so I did fall for it. I assume that somebody used a map editor to create that island and then spread the rumour that there is a hidden spot? :?

Prismatic Maelstrom wrote:What version do you have installed Calathon? It was removed in 1.05 for some reason. We should ask BasiliskWrangler about it sometime but I wouldn't right now as he'll be busy preparing for beta testing.

Want to know a secret that works on all versions? Read the below to find out how to enter the treasure room in Hammerlorne Mine!
[+] SPOILER

Find the Crux of Fire and return to Korren. After Korren gives you a new quest, talk to Erubor and accept his quest to visit Lorewitch Tower. Complete Erubor's quest, and you'll be in possession of the Plasma Wand. Return to Hammerlorne Mine and use the Plasma Wand on the mithril gate!
I have installed version 1.05. Concerning the second spoiler:
[+] SPOILER
It does not work for me or I am not doing it the right way: I fired several times upon the gate until the wand was used up, but nothing happened. No damage is shown and there is no text saying that the gate has been damaged. Do I need to target at specific area?

You didn't mention that you need to combine the plasma wand with the unarmed combat feat to guarantee enough damage to always destroy the Mithril Gate. He probably was a few points short.

I do so love the widget. That was the biggest surprise in Book I. ;-)

And I feel so silly listening to you! I should have demanded you send the link to the forum post BEFORE you sent me on a wild easter egg hunt across book II. Doh! *facepalm* Lol.
