I would be surprised if there was going to be a negative review. The game seems to have developed some cult following, and all (p)reviewers seem to be part of the incrowd. They certainly all show good knowledge of the game, and that isn't always the case with reviewers.

Hopefully many paying customers will follow as well, so BasiliskGames can carry on. 8)

Man - that review really puts me in the mood to play Book III right now. I don't like spoilers, so only read this post because it didn't seem to have too many. Dang - it looks like lots of fun coming soon. Cannot wait.

I have not read any re- or previews so far nor have I watched any videos, except for the official one. But it is really tough, I can tell you! On the other hand, there will be more to explore on my own, more surprises, more unexpected encounters and eventually more fun. So I think it is worth waiting... 24... long... loooooooong.... days... 24 hours each...

The temptation to read those previews is so strong. I must resist, though, or I'll ruin the game for me.

But it's so difficult!

I quite admire the religious devotion with which some people are avoiding the previews.

For me it's different, more like going on a holiday and looking at pictures in advance to get me in the mood.
I was even planning on postponing purchase of the game until it's out for a few months, that way giving myself even more previews by first reading what you all had to say about it...

There are a few things revealed in that long video that I rather would not have known yet, but this will be fairly unimportant to me when I first will start up Book III myself. Playing yourself is such a different experience from seeing someone else play or reading some comments that not much can spoil it for me.

I like what I'm reading about the new implementation of foraging, that it isn't tied to camping anymore - I apologise if that was already known, I haven't always been following this forum.
Apart from that, it just struck me how difficult it is to see that it's Book III in the video and not Book II. There are differences in detail, but it's all strikingly similar in feel. I don't think Book III will take a lot of getting used to if you've played Book I and II.

I'm not avoiding the previews, but watching them leaves me with nothing more useful to say than "Gimme! Now!"

For the first time ever, I am eagerly awaiting Valentine's Day - only another three weeks to go! :D

For the first time ever, I'm really doing all I can to avoid previews. And I don't really know why. Normally, I'd get all the info I could and buy only several weeks after the release. Now I'm planning to buy Book III as soon as it comes out.

Not only am I avoiding most of the "previews" - I'm even starting to toy with the idea of not coming to these forums, at all, from about Feb. 1 until I play through Book III for the first time!

For a Mac user like me avoiding the web site was a necessity once the Book II Windows version came out because the spoilers were just flying around like mad. I'm really excited about the Mac version being more or less simultaneous with the Windows version this time around.

For me it's like going to the cinema and watching a trailer before that (one of those stupid trailers that spoil everything). Though I wouldn't mind any screens...

That's because the engine of Book III is very similar to Book II (as far as I know). The resolution remains the Book II resolution, some graphics are reused (I don't mind that).

Three weeks... so close yet so far away.

Funny. Before January we just begged for screens and snippets and what-not. Now that we have what we asked for, we no longer want it. :o Weird.

Also, I expect some of the regulars have helped out with the alpha and beta testing, so they don't feel free to talk because they know too much.
