Drop Torches?

Post by Effidian »

I just realized torches have weight, and I'm holding 10 lbs worth. Is there anyway to drop torches?

stick some in a barrel in some town you frequent for use/pickup later as needed.

just dropping on the enviroment = gone forever. sticking in a chest/barrel = should be there when you return.

I'll see if I can get a right-click on the torch to bring up a slider in order for you to drop torches.

Thanks! I'm just burning them when exploring now and dropping them in sconces when I can. I've gone through 15 so far. 50 more to go... :)

I made the same mistake. Got around 60 torches and was wondering why my character is carrying so much weight on him.

I'm not sure if it was already fixed or not (still using v1.0 because of all the great exploits), but when you burn a torch, it's weight is not deducted from the total weight you're carrying till you go to another location (I believe you might also just save and reload the game). Not a huge problem, but when I burnt about 40 torches in one location, it was hard not to notice it.

I didn't know torches add weight, i thought they were weightless since they can't be selected in the inventory

The weight of torches was added to prevent people from hording them. Then, this new rule was complicated because several testers requested that torches be auto-extinguished at night to prevent them from burning up. That trick used to be a sure way to rid yourself of a torch quickly: camp with a torch lit and it burned itself out in seconds.

I am working on a way to drop torches- I just need to get the code in there. For now, just walk around with a torch lit all the time- you;ll use them up eventually.
