[Spoilers] The Four Keys

Post by bloodr »

I accidentally dropped/destroyed the goblin key that drops from the warlord in grimmhold. Is there a way i can get it back or do I have to start over?

1) Leave Grimmhold and save your game.
2) Backup the save folder.
3) Delete the Grimmhold map folders.
4) Go back to Grimmhold and everything should be reset. Get the key again.

That's the easiest way w/o a hex editor anyway...

Edit: There needs to be some kind of sticky about how to reset an area you f***ed up.

Wait you can reset places you boned over! I accidentally lead a pack of hungry noximanders to Bordertown which proceeded to poison and kill the whole lot of them.

macdude: yes, but it can destroy your saved game if you do it wrong. If you need help with this, email me.

AKA Always back up the save game before you try anything. In fact, regular backup save games on RPGs is always a good idea since bugs will always slip through and occasionally a bug can break your game. The fact that Eschalon was released with so (relatively) few bugs and that the developer is being so diligent about fixes and support is very rare.

I've tried making changes with hex editor and after I've reloaded my game, all the items in inventory and armor on my character were in different slots than before editing. It was fun to see sandals in hands or knife in the head.
