Stuck In Vela

So i'm stuck on the original quest in Vela after i got the note that said who i am and that my brother may be there. I went and explored all of Vela and didnt find anything. The only thing that gave me a lead was the building with the cauldren and supposed man alive on a torture rack (who really isnt in the building) What am i missing?

Did you talk to the man who was being tortured? You will find him hanging around waiting to die. Also find the goblin warlord, you need to take something from him.

thats the problem... there is no guy in the room. there is a few skeletons, torches and a the cauldron that you can interact with and thats it. there are also two racks but nobody on them... im really confused

Tell BW about the problem down in Eschalon I Support. Could be a bug he may have to look into.

sweet that answers my question on why hes not there... but sadly i cant fix the problem because i have a mac... oh well

Actually, your brother is not essential to the quest! You can complete it without him. The lost of your brother is not a game breaker. Actually this could be a big issue if it dastically affected the game. If your brother had something important to tell you and it could not be obtain anywhere else. But, that is not the case.

Your brother tells you to go to Shadowmirk to see the head spellcaster. Look for a way to get in!

however after i talked to the spellcaster nothing happened, there was nothing in the talking options that really let me progress in the game... so again im stuck. which makes me think that i really do need my brother alive to continue

Are you sure you spoke to the head spellcaster. He is on level three of the tower, not the silly initiate. The head spellcaster will given you a goblin key. He will then send you to the giant village to seek another goblin key. You must go speak to him otherwise you may not be able to complete the game.

yea i talked to him... i then got a key and a crazy object from his chest but he didnt have much to say to me except stuff about the war and that i am "simply an explorer" and thats how i found him.

did u talk to ur brother in vela first then to the headmaster? ur brother will give u a quest that asks that u talk to headmaster

If you got the key that is the most important item. The headmaster would have told you to head for the Giant Village. Unfortunately for you he is also suppose to send word to the Giant leader you are coming. Once you get to the giant village you may still get the prove yourself quest before you can get the other goblin key. Or you can try to kill all the giants and take the key. But that has consequences later.

I got to the giant before shadowmirk, and all you have to kill is the leader. I am glad I have restarted another game before finishing it. I wanted to try it out with pure mage for more information I need on balancing properly. I won't kill him this time.
