Goblin Keys

Post by s1l3nt0n3 »

Seeing there is a spoiler of the locations of the 3 easter eggs, could one be so kind to add the details of each key found.. I have found 3 and have one to go (yellow)

IIRC, there are one on the goblin Warlord in Vela and one on the Warlord in Grimmhold, Erubor in Shadowmirk gives you one and the giant chief has the last one.

A friend had the same problem.
These are the keys as far as I remember:

red key: giant chief
blue key: warlord in Grimhold
green key: Erubor in Shadowmirk (3rd floor)
golden key: warlord in Vela (in the north)

the giant chief doesn't "give" it to you. I've got to go back and get it. :(

Nobody said, that the warlords would give you the keys voluntarily. :)
They're only in their estates

So, if you're not niggling, that means nearly the same, as they would give it to you with their own hands. ;)

The Vela goblin warlord didn't cough up a yellow key for me either -- this is starting to sound like a real bug... :(

Anyone know how to fix this? I have cleared all the maps and am ready to take on the goblin stronghold...

I've never heard of the Warlords not dropping keys upon death, but I have heard that sometimes the loot is dropped behind a wall or object that conceals it. Go back to the locations where you killed the Warlord(s) and run your cursor along the walls to see if anything gets highlighted. If you are talking about the key in Grimmhold Maintenance Level, bring a lantern (which produces more light) so you can be sure not to miss it.

It's the yellow key that I'm missing -- is that supposed to be the Vela warlord? I've searched the area, "feeling behind the walls", but I haven't found anything yet.

I'm pretty sure I killed the warlord out in the open, anyway.

I would never have dropped the key, or stashed it in a barrel anywhere. And you CAN'T accidentally sell it...

Would there be any point to sending you the zipped save file? (I'm running v1.04 on Win XP, FYI.)

And/or is there anything I can do to "cheat" and get a yellow key? (I don't have any saves from before I cleared Vela -- I just assumed the last key was elsewhere...)

Thanks for the help...

Apparently the colour of the keys doesn't matter, Unbeliever, you just need 4. Some people have reported being able to get another Green Key each time they visit Erubor. Of course, it's possible this is a bug BW has fixed by now; I haven't tried it myself.

But you could try getting another Green Key from Erubor. It might help, I suppose, if you make sure you're not carrying your Green Key when you try.

Yeah, send me your save and I'll see if I can find your key. If not, I'll cheat one into your save for you.

Thanks for the help, BW! I have now achieved all three endings (including Destroyer -- will post screenshot to the appropriate thread shortly).

It dawned on me that during the battle where I killed the Vela warlord, there were SEVERAL goblins dropping bags all in the same tight area. Is it possible that one bag could land on the same tile as another bag, and clobber the first bag entirely? Or that the warlord's bag, trying to land on a square that another bag already occupied, failed to materialize at all?

Just a thought... :)

I'll post some end-of-game thoughts on another thread...

Thanks again!

I've sometimes had goblins or thugs drop bags in the same place, Unbeliever, and one doesn't replace the other - they're both still available.
