Torches - how to get rid of them

My character gathered up more torches than he needs and they are becoming a burden (using up the encumbrance weight allowance). Since they aren't represented in my "backpack" area, the only way I know of to get rid of them (other than using them up) is to put them in empty sconces. Is there another way?

wow. I had thought they were free, like gold, because you couldn't sell them or get rid of them, but you're right. 0.2 pounds per torch, and so I'm wasting 16 pounds on stuff I don't even use anymore. how lame.

Apparently not. You can either pack them around, put them into empty sconces, or burn them during those interminable walks back to wherever.
