okey, that's works for me. i'm with you so far. =)

but when i i try to access the options menu (pressing escape or clicking on the symbol - that is the load game screen, right?) while holding an item all i get is a text line that says "you must drop any item currently held before you can access the options menu".

any solutions? and once again, thanks for your help! =)

I believe it's called reload with this game. When it says you must drop the item, does it give you a choice?

AFAIK the current version of the game no longer permits this trick.

I'm running version 1.08 paid for full version.

@bob.d, With the item on your cursor you hit escape and choose reload.

When you get the pop up window saying:
This item will be lost forever if dropped! Are you sure?
Choose NO.
The window will close and you can hit I for inventory, deposit item, reopen chest, save rinse and repeat. :)

If you need more help pm me.

Wow! I thought 1.04 was the current version, sirchet. Pray tell, how did you get your hands on a copy of 1.08 - time machine?

acoustibop,

I stand corrected, my version is 1.01. I had mistaken the help file version for the game version. It's a b**tch getting old. :)

that's propbably why it's not working for me (i have 1.0.4); mystery solved! thanks anyway! :)

i have finished the game without cheating, but i would still like to feel wealthy!
so, any help with editing the money would still be great! i can't find anything useful in the 'char'-file. seems to contain only the items you currently have?

about money:
i have achieved alot of money from loot of statue goblins. Just go to the citadel, click for about 20 times at the statue, then get out of fire and slay all the goblins that appeared. Return to the city immediately after collecting all the valuables and sell it.

another way is to achieve merchandise skill at lvl25 as soon as possible, at this moment prizes in stores balances at 125%, so you wouldnt lost the money when trying anything and you will collect them until rich.

third way is just to get back to the city after killing boss and looting his gold..

but i must say that wealthy or not - there is actually nothing much to buy. Nothing extra, no plasma gun or the sword +200 dmg...
so its kinda useless ;)
Few years ago, i left studies and decided to live on my own. I have found a company, covering a lot of coffee market in my country. Now, i neither sleep or fall in love. Both in the same rate. Life is the most realistic RPG. Play it.

Yes, it helps to be an Atheist when doing the statue trick, so you don't get cursed. I find I get, on average, one bag per round of goblins doing this. The only hassle is that your inventory just fills up too fast - you have to keep going to where you can sell your loot!

Another way is buying unenhanced weapons/armour, enhancing and selling them - some items seem to get a considerable price hike when you do this. The problem here, of course, is sourcing the reagents and reactants you need. You can pick up 3+ Ectoplasms per merchant refresh in Blackwater and more Serpent Venoms and Mercuries than you can Ectoplasms. Spider Silk is the rare one if you want enhance armour: if you hunt round all the merchants (not just Blackwater), you can sometimes pick up one or two per refresh - but this is not reliable, as the others seem to be.

I had wondered if enchanting might be a source of revenue. What level of mercantile do you have?

Sounds good. I boosted my mercantile to 7, so I would have a nice, round, 10 with the amulet. I will have to start watching prices on enchanted items to get a feel for which items are profitable.

This might also make it worthwhile to purchase armor sooner. I had been waiting until I could buy really good stuff, but if I can turn a profit, or even just break even...

I find spidersilk and other components in barrels and chests sometimes. They stack and don't weigh much, so I always save them (and you can also store them in an empty chest or barrel somewhere for later).
