Yup, you just have to leave every key alone, because you're right, Rebelicious; once you've picked them up, you've committed yourself.
Strange is, Kreador, that you do not need the key for the church at all; you can kill Julian, then go to father Tyrus for the first time, and you'll still receive your money and experience points for the quest, eventhough technically you never received the quest. Well, no, that's not quite right; you still have to ask first for a job, but you can do that after already having done the job.
The only difference is that in the conversation with Julius you won't see any dialogue options involving father Tyrus popping up.

How about a slight modification of this one?

Leave No Stone Unturned - You must end the game having completed every quest without failure.

Here's a couple I thought up off the top of my head:

Elemental Storm - All kills must be made via elemental damage. (was originally "Pyromaniac," but fire isn't its own damage type)

The Neutral Party - You must never deviate from normal combat mode. (hmm... too easy for a caster)

Don't Drink The Water - You can't drink water from a water skin/well. Thirst must be quenched by food or other type of beverage.

And how about some extreme challenges? :twisted:

Terminally Fragile - You cannot take damage. (maybe something like 75-80% miss rate, or a maximum amount for a not so extreme challenge)

Stay On Target - You can never miss. (again, 75%+ accuracy for non-extreme, but prob. too easy for casters)

The Clothes On My Back - Complete the game without picking up anything other than quest/granted items.

Good stuff CB. Always good to put more up for discussion. Even if 95% or more of these never make it into Book II (It's up to BW what fits and is easy enough to implement), it makes for good discussion material.

Here's another one I thought of:

* Magellan
- You must step on every single explorable square in the game. (I was just going to call it the "Explorer" Challenge, but then I thought it would be cooler to name it after a real life explorer and Magellan was one of the most famous and he did circumvent the globe)

Well realistically, I don't expect BW to implement any more challenges for Book II. It would require modifying the statistics screen, as well as implementing code for each challenge included. I don't believe that doing so would really be worth the time taken away from the expansion development, as well as "the next big thing." However, it's always good for players to come up with challenges for each other... and they may lead into new challenges for "the next big thing." :wink:

Absolutely, I surely don't want to put more work on BW right now as he's getting ready to put out the expansion/1.05 patch, the guy aleady bends over backwards for us. The challenges I and others have presented are mostly for people (myself included) to try on their own, keeping track of them themselves, and also possibly to add to Book III, as long as it won't add too much work for BW. Even if only one or two of all the new challenges compiled here make it into Book III, I consider it a win. Frankly even if none of them make it in I still will be happy since it's refreshing to have a developer like BW who listens to his customers and does whatever he can to make the game how the people like it, but sometimes the effort is just not worth the result. My goal here is to compile as many suggestions as possible from which BW can pick and choose those that would not be too much of a pain to implement and would be realistically balanced.

Again I frankly don't expect ANY of these to make it into a Book II update (won't complain if they do though). These are mostly suggestions for Book III. Once a Book III section comes up I figure I'll copy & paste the OP to the suggestions thread.

Here's another new challenge:

* Demolitions Expert - Kill at least 50 enemies using either powder kegs or Demon Oil (final killing damage must be with explosives). (Amount is adjustable, just a educated guess. Adjust amount for Book III conditions)

Edit:
Here's another one:

* Chemophobe
- You have an irrational fear of chemicals. You may never use a potion (Demon Oil and such included). What's more you may never even pick up a potion or even a reagent or the challenge is forfeit.

The Masochist

You must detonate all kegs of black powder while standing next to them to take full damage.

Hmm... I would rather be cautious, and test that in real life first before introducing it to this game. :wink:

It's alright, I've already tested it. Not with me, of course. I was catering for a maxican birthday party and... let's just say there was no candy in that pinata.
