Unbalanced mage to warrior paths

you know I am playing a pure mage and it is a pain. I am trying to see where all the issues are. Agreed it is mana and regen rates. I have found a little trick that helps to regen when you cannot *rest* if no one is on the screen use the space bar. Or if you are hidden in shadows in the dark. Just hold down the space bar and you pass turns w/o chance of a random encounter. I did this first in Vela. I do it in a safe room while trying to do the hunting lodge. It works great for the most part. As long as you are not visibile to the monster they don't come to hack you. This has been the only way I have been able to get around the man regen issue so far. Though raptors are still too tough for me. Right now.
