We are excited to announce a price drop on Eschalon: Book I from its original price of $27.95 to $19.95 effective tonight at 12:01 am! Like all forms of entertainment media such as books, movies, music and especially games, there comes a time when it makes sense to lower the price of a product to attract new customers.
So, if you've been hesitant to purchase the game in the past because of its price, or maybe you've been "borrowing your friends" copy, now is when you can show your support for independent game development and classic role-playing games by purchasing a copy of Book I for yourself. Thank you very much!

All of our affiliates have been notified of this prices drop and encouraged to take advantage of it by "re-promoting" the game. Whether they do or don't is up to them.

I had wanted to purchase another copy or two for my nephews a few weeks ago but you sold out.

We have just sold out of Eschalon: Book I CDs. At this point we are not planning on ordering any more due to the volume of discs that must be purchased at a time.
For those of you who may want the special features that were present on the disc, we are working on a solution for you. Check back soon!

Our plan is to put a "Digital Bonus Pack" online that would be the bonus contents of the CD, including:
- The full-length version of the score to Eschalon: Book I, composed specifically for the game.
- A high-resolution map of Thaermore, suitable for large scale printing.
- The Eschalon: Book I trailer in full resolution in Quicktime and Divx formats.
- The making of Book I: a short screen-captured slideshow of the game through it's 2.5 years of development.
This Digital Bonus Pack would probably have a cost of $6.95 (which is mostly to cover processing and bandwidth expenses). This allows the people who only purchased the download version a chance to get the extra content on the disc but save a few bucks that would have gone to duplication and shipping.
We will probably have this ready very soon- in the next couple of days.

What brings the future for Part 1 ?
It past now actually a half year and I couldn't find a way to buy the additional stuff you mentioned. Since the second book will be released midd 2009, I thought you could offer the bonus material free, at least for everyone who downloaded/purchased the Game.
Furthermore, I asked me, if you will drop the price of "Eschalon: Book 1" again to 10-15$ or my preferered way, offer a bundle with both parts (perhaps for 40$ or with a 5$ discount for the second book, if you bought allready book 1 and put your reference number as some kind of coupon ?).
It would be great, since I just found this game here recently and got addicted by the demo

But I want to make sure that I wouldn't get "punished/disapointed" when I buy the game now for 20 bucks, when the price will be dropped in a few months (since its almost 1 1/2 years old + to promote the second book). So I would be glad to hear from the developers that the price of part one will still remain by 20$ until the last part of the saga comes out or at least, which special package they will offer for new customers...]

Book I will not have a price drop lower than $19.95 for a few years. At some point we'll probably sell each of the Eschalon games as "classics" for $9.95 or so, but not until the trilogy is finished and we are well into our next series.
I am sorry for the delay in getting the Book I CD-extras ready. No reason other than we have been busy. I'll get it ready in the next few days as we update the official demo and download version to 1.05.

I read somewhere that the new 1.05 Version will be a standalone version, so not just a patch. When I download/purchase it tomorrow (Monday), will I be able to get the new version than ? I just won't download twice such a big file, so it would be good to know (and are the extras than inlcuded in the full version 1.05 ? In a seperate order called "Extra" they shouldn't disturb someone and as some kind of redemption for the delay, they would be realy nice)

I'll post a message here when version 1.05 is up. It looks like we are good to go based on the demo testing, so I think we'll probably get it online in the next 24 hours.

It's me again. I bought the game yesterday and have to admit its great
I just got recently a bug with the save slots, but luckily I could find the Thread to find a solution for it (Back Up copy them etc.). The only question I got now is, if you will still offer the Bonus Pack or not (I got addicted by the music and hopefully the "full-length version of the score to Eschalon: Book I" will even remain some unknown; perhaps even some exclusive portraits stuff or so could be contained)
