To answer a post in the linux forum, I installed he game on my 64bits Ubuntu to confirm it works like a charm so I just had the perfect excuse to play it again.
So much easier this time. I did play an atheist wizard, which prove to be soooooo coooll vs poltergeist to collect ectoplasm

Ok I knew it all so I did not lose any skills points, cartography, sword, divination, light armor, etc etc bought or I waited for the correct book to come by. (OK, I also reload quite often chest and drop but that was my second time

So I have some remarks. first of all this game is so good you can replay it with pleasure even if indeed it is a small world. Some remarks that have probably been given already.
Spells are not quite properly balanced, compress atmosphere or supernova are so very consuming !! (but a potion of invisibility III + several mana fortify + 7 to 8 Mana III and you kill all the spire guards almost without the need of the incinerator fuel

So you finish to kill all the taurax with fire dart 6 !!
Hide in shadow is too powerful. While hidden in shadow, I can kill anything they are just circling around me and receving damage without ever trying to attack me !! If I fail the hidden in shadow once, I just move a square and even in the middle of the desert I will be hidden again. And my skill was only 3 pts at the beginning + prowler armor + 2 points from the book so 9 points. While my elemental was 31 !!
It is even better than the invisibility potion, a taurax will attack me at 5% when I am invisible and not even try to attack me if hidden in shadow.
I think this is it. I was very fun again to play. I did use the reload often which allow me to discover quite a lot of new stuff. Oh no. my last remark is about arrows. I was a ranger last time. And I was running for gold just to buy arrows and they are also very heavy

Thanks again Thomas. I am even more impatient to see Book II now.
