How do you use a demon oil to break open a door!?

Or for that matter, how the hell can I break open a door or a chest using a normal weapon? I've heard people mention bashing doors and chests etc here but how the hell do you do it!? Whenever I click on the damn locked door, a message comes that its locked. However, I cannot break it open and I don't know how to throw Demon Oil when not in combat mode.

Shift-clicking is the key to bashing.

Same will be true of Demon Oil - if Demon Oil is set up as your primary weapon, shift-clicking a door will get your character to throw the Demon Oil at the door. Just make sure your character's stepped back a few steps!

In addition though you'll probably find this out when playing shift clicking with demon oil allows you to throw it on empty squares as well, so if you need a wall of flames for defense as opposed to simply burning your opponents you can do so.

Hey I didn't find that out until about my third time through the demo (decided to try out all the "classes" before buying).
