Coupla questions - SPOILERS

1. Killing the spiders behind the fence in Rotwood and taking their goodies: I thought that the first time I played the game I was given a quest to do this. Who gives me that quest, as I've not been given it this time around?

2. In the Underground Repository, there is a porticullis near X17, Y101. How do I open it?

I don't recall a quest to do so. But if you follow the fence around carefully you'll find a break in it that will eventually lead you to a nice surprise behind a door.

Been a while since I've been there, but as I recall the only thing that can be opened is the door with your key or use someone elses key.

Oh, just remembered someone said they opened a portcullis in there after killing the guards. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct Dragonlady, there is a room with a chest that you can only access by killing the guards in the Repository.
