Stuck in Talushorn

I'm on the 2nd floor. Found the lever to get me inside the arena cage. Nothing in there. There are areas I can't get to (gates blocking me with levers on the other side). Been around the outside and been in the target room (nothing of any use there).

How do I progress?

Curious as to what happens if you accidentally blow up the powder kegs? Do they respawn?

There are 3 kegs of black powder on the second level, two are in with the other barrels and the last is in at the end of the corridor along the west side of the arena past as taurax spectator.

The arena has a taurax and brimstone spider fighting, but if you take too long to enter they may be dead before you get there.
