Barrels disappear

When my inventory is full and I try to pick up a gun powder barrel.
I'm told my inventory is full, and the barrel, just disappears. Very annoying when you don't notice this fact, and have marched to and back just to find yourself still without a barrel, and the desired object still out of reach behind a wall.

Is there a fix for this.

No. But it's been mentioned as a bug in the Windows Support forum thread for the coming v1.05, so hopefully it'll get a fix in the next version of Book II...
