Westwillow

I would love to go to Westwillow. I've gleaned that I get there inside the Ironpool Dam, however there is no way for me to get past the gate. The dwarf inside tells me about his job, and that is it. There seems to be nothing else there...no switches I can pull (tried doing the levers with Ogre STr. and nothing happened. I tried killing the dwarf for a key, and nothing there. I have decent spot hidden, and nothing has appeared. What am I missing?
