server down whirr whirr . . . RELIABLE HOSTS

Okay, so... GL -- both journal and catalog . . . down for more than a week, now. Dead server.
You know... if you're sick or whatever, you're supposed to have somebody there to switch to backup in case something goes wrong.
This guy... I get no emails from him, now (even though he can easily get my email from WhoIs, aside from which he should have it down on paper anyhow), and he doesn't respond to my phone calls.
...The guy used to be really good, service-wise, which is why I stuck with him so long.
I'm beginning to worry that this is going to be indefinite if not permanent.
So... it's radical procedure time. New host, new domain name, start all over.
I need a reliable host. I mean like... never goes down for more than a few hours. ...Which should be the norm... this seems a little ridiculous to me.
Anyone have any ideas? What hosts have you used which you think are super-reliable, etc.?
