Hello, every one. I was wondering why on this game isn't serial # ? I have purchased this game i like it very much. But I can share the install file with every one that I now, and they have a full version too . (i have purchased windows version for my brother, i'm waiting for MAC version ).
Thanx.
p.s. can i play on windows, and the transfer my character on mac ?
We use no copy protection with E:B1 because we didn't want people to have to deal with StarForce or an activation system or serial numbers.
We are putting trust in people to do the right thing and not pirate the game. Everyone knows what it will mean if we lose too many sales because of casual (or organized) piracy: no future development. Is getting a free copy of the game really worth it?
And I appreciate it, Hell I went out and bought a copy of Galactic Civ II just because they feel the same way. Don't hinder the paying customer, too much DRM lockdown BS going on right now. Look at the Bioshock fiasco. Look at the digital music/video fiasco in mid swing. When as a producer you make it more difficult for your paying customers to access your product than to go pirate it, well then you're doing something wrong. Basilisk is defiantly doing something right here.
Plus this makes it easy to buy some of those fancy CD versions as gifts, the end user doesn't have to deal with any registration/serial BS.
Thanx for reply's. Im one of honest persons, and will buy game again for mac and if I what for my PC. But I have talked about other peoples, I dont believe that all peoples are so honest as I am or you guys. Thanx again for answers. I like this game very much - THANX BASILISK !
p.s. how about character transfer from win to mac ? (is it possible ? ).
There is not so much point in a copy protection scheme, unless it is an online one,,,, none not even the people who spends millions of $ on making a copy protection has managed to make one that cannot be hacked. 3dsmax even had a hardware that you needed to plug into your computer in order to avoid it, but it still didn't help!! How could a small indie developer create a working protection??? people who wants to pirate it will anyway, it is great to not give us any copy protection trouble.
Bravo Basilisk! I hope you'll sell a lot of copies the RPG market need this kinds of classic games! That is not dumbed down.
