New
I'm new to this forum (and to Basilisk Games, in general) so I thought I'd introduce myself. I bought Book I a few weeks ago and have been really enjoying it. I like how it can be played at a leisurely pace and it reminds me of the Elder Scrolls series, which is probably the only computer RPG series that i'm familiar with. Anyways... I'd like to thank Basilisk for making such great game and i'm definitely going to purchase Book II soon.

I'm not really sure about the correlation between the Eschalon games and The Elder Scrolls games as they really have little in common outside of them both being RPGs. Eschalon = turn-based, TES = real-time. Eschalon = isometric, TES = First/third person. Eschalon = assign skill points upon leveling, TES = using skills raises them and levels you. Not trying to hate on you, just trying to clear up some of the differences between game series.
With that said I'm glad you enjoyed Eschelon Book I and I'm sure you'll enjoy Eschalon Book II just as much if not more. For a games that resembles Eschalon a bit more closely than the TES games I'd recommend the Ultima series (particularly 4, 6, and 7 [both of them]), and the old SSI Gold Box games (Pools of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades, etc...).

Thanks, Dragonlady, and it's great so many people enjoy these games as much as I do.
No offense taken, sirdilznik, though, I'm pretty sure I just showed my ignorance there.
The only reason the Elder Scrolls came to mind while playing Eschalon was Eschalon seemed very open-ended and more centered around exploration than narrative.
Oh, and thanks for the recommendations. I've heard great things about the Ultima series (I think my bro used to play them). The other games I only recognize by name. I'm from a (slightly) younger generation so I obviously missed out on a lot of great games. Do you know of any feasible way I could ahold of any of these? I don't mind paying for them, but I'm assuming they're all DOS titles and not easy to find physical copies of them.
