Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

Basilisk Wrangler, you may want to check this site: http://distrowatch.com

It gives you a good idea what libraries are available in which distributions. Good for checking compatibility. For example in Debian:
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=debian

As you can see, at the moment only ...

Re: Excellent post on Quarter To Three

Once and for all:
Copyright infringement is not theft.

Therefore, it's perfectly ok to pirate something if you can't afford it, and won't be able in near future. Either way the copyright holder gets no money. It can only be an issue when it prevents from paying for legal copy. Even then it's ...

While we're at it, would it cost much effort to change sunbeams to moonbeams while in dungeon ? In some places, you can see the sun shine through some window, for example in Tangletree Ossuary. I'm pretty sure it does even during a night. It would be very pointless, yet very nice, if such beams ...

A change to Survival skill

Survival skill is supposed to help against disease, and I pumped a couple of points into it early, knowing that as an atheist I woudln't be able to rely on healing. That was a bad idea, and with healing wells around even increased hp recovery was too little. I have an impression high Mercantile/Lore ...

Speaking of rogues, I think stealth is actually quite pointless. By avoiding enemies you deprive yourself of xp. Second, due to the save/load antifeature, stealth isn't valuable for scouting. On the other hand, fighting while hidden in shadow is stupidly effective, yet very boring, you keep waiting ...

Don't treat your customers like thieves.

But you are a thief.

Don't use words you don't understand. I'm going to give you benefit of doubt. Next time I'll expand my ignore list. I don't have to put up with people like you in my free time.

thief, stealer

I bought many games because I pirated them earlier. Demos are often too short and/or misleading to base my decisions on.
If a game tries to look like crap (Titan's Quest), crashes, in the name of copy protection - I just think it's a crappy game and never, ever consider buying it. I don't buy games ...

Actually IMO he looks like (and was borrowed from?) Elric of Melnibone (Michael Moorcock). Hopefully his sword is better behaved though.

More like Wiedzmin (The Witcher) from serries of novels by polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. If the setting is fairly complete and interesting, it's because it's ...

1. I don't see ANY problem with low-risk areas containing low quality treasure. You seem to oppose difficulty scaling, but have no problem with loot scaling ? Strange.
Furthermore, I like the idea of sneaking through an area you can't beat now to get some good loot. It's just a matter or ensuring ...

Serious combat bug (turns out of sync)

Hey

I'm using the linux version of Eschalon Book I I downloaded a couple of days ago. As far as I can tell there are no linux patches available. Does it mean it's already patched ?

Anyway...
You don't have to wait until monsters finish their turns. This allows you to act faster than them if their ...

Do we have an official confirmation that treasure is preloaded into containers upon map entry based on character's level and not area level ? The way I see it, value of treasure can be separate from character level.

If it was up to me, I would do my best to assure there's little room for grind in ...

Here skill represents the ability to strike at spots not protected by armour. By the way: medieval knights (at least german ones) carried daggers with them precisely to finish (fallen) armoured opponents. They were thin enough to fit in armour openings.

(I still don't like the "armour makes you ...

Thrown weapons reworked

Hi

I have some suggestions for thrown weapons. I think in B1 they're too similar to bows, and simply not fun enough (for me).

Please:
- thrown weapons skill should somehow impact Demon Oil. As far as I can make out, currently you don't need to be skilled at all to use Demon Oil very effectively ...
