Re: Daggerfall

I can't help you with the simulation, but I can say I've always been a fan of the Elders scrolls, except for this one. I got about halfway through it, became a vampire and could never shake it. However, the worst thing was the stinkin 3-D maps. They drove me crazy! I could never figure out where I ...

Re: Remember when

I started computer games when the Commodore 128 came out. Came with a separate disk drive. Never got a game on cassette. Almost built an analogue synthesizer that used one for programs, but luckily, I couldn't afford it, as that technology quickly died for that system (PAIA, by the way).

My first ...

Re: Obama or McCain?

Realmzmaster,

Yeah, it's irrational that I despise that man. Can't explain it, can't give you an adequate answer that would make sense. I just do. I despise Bush for different reasons, his policies, his attitude. With Obama, it's just a vibe I can't shake. Sorry if it upsets you, but that's just my ...

Re: Obama or McCain?

As a lifelong democrat, it pains me to say that Obama makes my skin crawl. I absolutely despise that guy, in a Nostradamus kind of way. The guy talks some good game, but doesn't seem to have much on substance. And, his world view seems (and I paraphrase "seems") to be incredibly naieve.

Then there ...

Re: Spiderweb Games

Tried the demo of Avernum 5 and am ready to delete it. Not my thing.

Just for a hoot, I picked up Gothic 3 and installed a huge amount of bug fixes before I started playing. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.

Re: Indiana Jones

I wholeheartedly agree on the second one. Half the time I was praying for Kate Capshaw to just shut up and that annoying kid to disappear.

P.S. Loved the Crystal Skull. I didn't have much of a problem with Labouf either except his Marlon Brando schtick was a bit much. I still think he might ...

Dragonlady,

Thanks! I found that PDA site you are talking about, I think, but my McAffee program went crazy on it when I pulled it up. Said it was full of spyware or something, so I shut it down.

Appreciate the thought, though.

Thanks to everyone for the link to the hints for The Quest. However, I just noticed the one site in Germany is crashed. So, I can't find anything specific to The Quest anymore. Has anyone run across another working hint site? I've been playing the game quite a bit and still only have explored 90% of ...

I've been thinking of buying the whole game. $10 is not bad. However, I've started a bunch of quests and have only finished like one of them. I went to that link you guys posted and got a headache just looking at all the categories. I gave up before I ever found anything specific to The Quest. Has ...

I played it and loved it. In fact, it was the very first game I ever played in the IBM format. Before that it was Commodore 128. Played it in the early nineties.

That was the only way to play most of those games back then. The only exception I remember was the Phantasie series. But I for one, breathed a huge sigh of relief when the automaps came along.

Speaking of automaps, I much prefer the one that fills in as you go along, no the ones that display the ...

Wish I could say I feel sorry for them but I have to agree with that one reviewer that said they shot themselves in the foot with their copy protection. If they'd just bothered to put a message on there saying it crashed because of copy protection, maybe those that stole it wouldn't have given it ...

I played it and loved it. Not as much as Might & Magic, but still very good. I don't remember any big bugs in the game. I just downloaded the latest patch and played. To me it was almost an abbreviated version of Wizardry. Just seemed shorter with less to do.

I wouldn't mind if DW Bradley continued ...
