I am in the same boat, Dragon Lady, as far as Kamyran's is concerned, and I also put the game on the back burner for now. It was fun while it lasted, tho, lol.

Okay, I've managed to get a fairly nice character up to 50th level. Found a crown that has some kind of magical power. Don't know what it does. Found a green Stealth suit which is great for sneaking around. Can walk right next to critters and get ignored! Got two of the most powerful weapons..or so the list of weapons says. Champion sword and Orc (?) double headed axe. I managed to destroy one of the oblisks after getting zapped 5 times by picking up 5 white crystals (puzzle bit). Have killed off the dragon(?) in the Snake Cave, found the Cult Key (didn't stick around to get killed for the millionth time by witch, teleported self out by using crystal Fairies gave me :) Went through cult gate and found a dozen or more teleport gates and got confused as to where I was. Think I'll go back a few saves and try the Wizard Castle. Oh yeah, killed the Black Knight early on and used the armour a lot. :) I have two specialized crystals but not sure what to do with them yet. PHEW!

Do not forget to enter the Wizards Tower with a serious stock of red gems which power up the Drain spell-! Good luck Dragon Lady, and remember to post here on how you did.

Oh! Thanks for the hint, I'm a little low on reds and oranges at the moment. Love the green sneak suit! :D

Dragon Lady: I kind of passed on boosting the stealth talent along with getting stealthy equipment on my previous runs, and instead, went for endurance along with either a melee, or a ranged talented character. I think I will have at it again and concentrate on stealth, magic and endurance.

Yep, the drain spell has to be one of the best spells in the game. Drain an enemy of his/her hit points which then add onto your own. My major cities were basically placed within a circle during my last run, and so I followed them around and around looking for red crystals. By the time I ended in the city I started with, the wares were reset again, and so red gems were easy to come by.

As for the drain spell, I had a so-so number for my magic talent when I played last and so I did not do all that great in HP recovery each time I drained. I am thinking, or at least hoping, that the higher the magic talent, the higher the HP drain and gain?

I gave this one a try... lots of interesting wrinkles.
I concentrated ranged x2 and stealth, on hard. Very tough, especially when you're trying to figure things out. Now at level 50, capital is under siege and I think only the sultan, the castle, and maybe one farm way in the boonylands are still intact.
I did win over the sultan and wipe out the orcs and necromancer. Herded cattle. Visited the Yeti (what's that all about?) Took out the nasty that was bothering the merfolk. Found the shadow bow. Absorbed two weird crystals...
Early attempt to take on the wizard tower was unsuccessful, but that was before I found the stealth suit - maybe I'll need to try again with the sneaky approach.
Sneaking around in the cult village didn't seem to help - got to what seemed like as far as could go, looked like a dead end, and then got hit with enslavement on the way back out...
Got the enslavement lifted, wondering what to do next now - maybe try taking out more obelisks underground (only one down so far). Trying to keep the villages alive was more fun though!

Oh, and what do you use chiral ore for? Found it among the Orcs.

Cheers,

Heck if I know what the chiral ore is for, haven't seen it. Nor anything haveing to do with a Yeti.

I've taken out the serpant for the Merfolk. I've not been playing for a few days, been busy running my own game on rpol dot com. If you go to the addy below you can read the game chapters under the heading "Knumythia story..." Been going since late 2005 and we're on chapter 110 now. Some chapters of the story are missing as I haven't gotten around to putting them up yet due to my being sick for 5 months in 2007.

I'll get back to Kamyran's Eye 2 soon.

Oh, forgot the addy: http://rpol.net/game.cgi?gi=7901&date=1257909427

That chiral ore was worth over 3k if I remember right, some description to the effect that it was used to make weapons of power... which of course tweaked my interest!
